Wildlife Sightings for 7th July 2026

Two Little Egret, Snipe and one Green Sandpiper on the marsh. Three Oystercatcher and one Common Sandpiper on the main lake.

4 Common Tern + 1 juvenile - main lake, reservoir lagoon

Breeding Bird Survey Results 1/6 (singing birds only): 7 Blackbird, 17 Blackcap, 6 Chiffchaff, 22 Cetti's Warbler, 9 Sedge Warbler,  71 Reed Warbler, 4 Reed Bunting, 6 Song Thrush, 19 Wren, 9 Dunnock, 7 Greenfinch, 34 Robin, 1 Bittern.

Other breeding birds include Lapwing (3pr), Water Rail (2pr), Great Crested Grebe (2pr), Mallard (13pr), Shoveler (1pr), Pochard (7prs), Tufted Duck (10pr), Gadwall (4pr), Common Tern (6pr), Black-headed Gull (4pr).

Butterflies: Red Admiral, Peacock, Brimstone, Comma, Small White, Green-veined White, Large White, Speckled Wood, Painted Lady, Holly Blue, Common Blue, Brown Argus, Small Heath, Marbled White, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Large Skipper, Small Skipper, Essex Skipper, Clouded Yellow.

Dragonflies: Norfolk Hawker, Southern Hawker, Broad-bodied Chaser, Emperor Dragonfly, Lesser Emperor Dragonfly, Black-tailed Skimmer, Red-veined Darter, Ruddy Darter, Azure Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Banded Demoiselle, Red-eyed Damselfly, Small Red-eyed Damselfly, Willow Emerald Damselfly.
