The Hen Harrier flew over the reserve heading NW this morning. The main lake has had 2 Bittern, Knot and a late migrating Swallow

Wildside Alders have Siskin, Redpoll and Goldfinch feeding in the tree tops. Water Rail and Stonechat feeding in the freshly cut patches of main reedbed

First Bittern of the autumn
First Bittern of the year spotted on the North shore of the main lake. Water Rail showing very well on the reserve this morning as well with 2 feeding in the open along the grazing marsh fenceline and main lake islands 21/22.
