Close alert

Flooding update

Due to recent rains and snow melting along the Great River Ouse, the Ouse washes is currently flooding to depths where it effects our hides. Unfortunately Reedbed hide is now closed, and all hides excluding the main observatory will require wellies. Water levels are likely to increase throughout the day and it’s likely the water may be even too deep for wellies. We will keep you updated on social media. You can call us 01353 860711 or email info.welney@wwt.org.uk.

However, there is still a good number of birds and species on the reserve and the swans are still providing a great spectacle from the main observatory which is not affected by the flooding. The hare walks on lady fen are also not affected.
