All hides except Gill's Lookout are accessible to everyone today, including with mobility scooters. Water levels are continuing to drop. Lady Fen trails are now closed until after breeding season, but great views from cafe veranda. All roads including A1101 Welney Wash Road are open.

Main Lagoon as the swans started to fly out

Thousands of swans are back now for the winter, with a particularly high November count:-

WWT Welney:
Whooper swan - 4262
Bewick's swan - 305

Ouse Washes total:
Whooper swan - 6762
Bewick's swan - 310

Over 1,200 swans were on the main lagoon alonemaking for a noisy morning as they started flying out to the fields. We still have places available on our swan's awake mornings, Sat 26 & Sun 27 November, definately looks like it should be a good weekend for the morning flight out!
