Plenty of whooper swans and a few Bewick's at this morning's swan's awake event, although the foggy conditions didn't help, but it did keep the swans in a bit longer than if it had been clear.  A female pintail and a male wigeon joined the mallard and pochard at the early feed this morning and the numbers of pochard look to be increasing.  Whilst looking for whooper swans down at Lyle hide, one was spotted with a yellow leg ring, VPC.  On reseasching this ring back at the centre we've founbd that it is a female whooper who is at least 18 years old called Ouse.  She was with a mate and 5 cygnets this morning.
