Todays sightings and access

Water levels are currently the same as on the weekend so wellies are required for accessing Reedbed hide.

Black-tailed godwits and lapwing are still on the islands in front of the main hide in good numbers.  A female marsh harrier flew over the main lagoon this morning putting up most of the lapwing and dabbling ducks.  Numbers of tufted duck and pochard are increasing on the reserve with wigeon, shoveler and teal gathering in the shallow areas of water around the spits of land.

Good numbers of swans were on the main lagoon at the evening feed last night, with ten leg ringed swans coming up to feed on the grain.  A flypast from a barn owl just before the talk started was the icing on the cake.
