Water levels
Water levels on the reserve are continuing to drop. The Welney Wash Road section of the A1101 is now open as there is no water on the road.
We are now gradually opening access to our footpaths; with Nelson-Lyle, Lyle and Friends hides accessible if you are wearing wellies. The paths to Reedbed hide is still very wet so we are leaving it closed for the time being.
As water levels drop many of the wading species will return to the reserve, who until now have been enjoying the Lady Fen area. Views over this area have been amazing this winter, most recently with ducks and wading birds escaping the higher water levels on the Ouse Washes.
